Dalbeattie grandfather Bob Cuthbertson to have beard dyed for charity

A Dalbeattie grandfather is set to have his beard dyed for charity.

Bob Cuthbertson, who is 80, was due to have his impressive facial hair dyed at Power Cuts today to help out Dumfries activity and resource centre.

Retired Bob who worked in the botany department at Glasgow University, said beforehand: “The kids all call me Santa Claus!

“It’s to be dyed blue and pink as far as I know.”

Bob will have his beard dyed for a week in a bid to raise as much money possible for a therapeutic chair at the ARC where his grand daughter works.

Power Cuts owner Lesley Stitt will be putting out a sponsor sheet with collection tins in Dalbeattie pubs.

And Lesley is encouraging people to approach Bob and give him donations to help support the cause, with the new chair costing £1,038.
