Dalbeattie grandfather Bob Cuthbertson brightens up the town by having beard dyed for charity

Bob Cuthbertson has been brightening up Dalbeattie this week.

The 80-year-old grandfather has had his beard dyed to raise money for Dumfries activity and resource centre. And he is delighted with the response he’s had from local people.

He said: “It’s not just coins that people have been putting in, it’s notes as well. It’s fantastic.”

Bob had his facial hair turned into a multi-coloured delight at Power Cuts in Dalbeattie last Thursday to raise money for a therapeutic chair at the ARC where his granddaughter works.

Collection tins have been put out around the town as Bob tries to raise some of the £1,038 needed for the chair.

And he’s hoping to boost the total further today by having his hair shaved off at Power Cuts as his week-long effort comes to an end.
