A Dalbeattie fundraising drive for the international earthquake relief effort in Turkey and Syria has totalled £1,745.
Local volunteers manned the town’s pop-up shop on Maxwell Street to sell a range of items donated by the public.
And when the campaign wound up last month the incredible cash total was revealed.
Organiser Jean Collier said: “We had a wonderful response to our appeal from everyone.
“I would like to thank all those who donated so generously and supported us through their purchases too.”
Jean, from Portling, originally only intended to run the appeal until Saturday, March 4.
But so many goods were handed in that the campaign ran on for a further few days.
She added: “I had a fantastic team of volunteers helping me and I thank all of them too.”
