Hard-pressed families were brought a little Christmas cheer on Thursday by Dalbeattie Foodbank.
Festive hampers were delivered to households round the town in a link up with local convenience store E Kinnaird and Son.
Foodbank co-ordinator Donna McKnight said: “Unfortunately just as with the previous year, this year has shown to be difficult for a lot of people in the community.
“The foodbank to help support our community is still needed during these uncertain times.
“Our Secret Santa appeal proved to be very successful again this year thanks to the continued generosity of the community as well as some local businesses, providing each user with a gift to help brighten their Christmas.
“Included within the hamper was fresh produce, providing ingredients for a full Christmas meal including pudding, juice and treats.
Donna added: “The foodbank has continued to run five days a week throughout the year and this has only been possible thanks to the hard work and commitment from our volunteers who provide their time and cars to make and deliver much needed packages to those in need.”
