Dalbeattie Day Centre £250 better off as kind-hearted runners snap up special hats

Kind-hearted runners have helped raise £250 for Dalbeattie Day Centre.

Jessie Boardman was busy during lockdown knitting hats for Annan and District Athletic Club.

When given the task by son Joe, the 91-year-old went into action and had knitted more than 30 hats in no time.

They were snapped up by runners, raising £250 for the day centre.

The cash will help the day centre to provide welcome services for the elderly in the town.

Day centre manager Charlene Kirk is pictured receiving the money from Joe and Jessie Boardman.
