Dalbeattie and Lochrutton Primary kids have great fun raising money for Children in Need

Kids at Dalbeattie Primary had great fun for Children in Need.

They took part in Joe Wicks’ Big Morning Move while wearing bright, sport clothes and they also held a spotty raffle with staff enjoying a duck race.

They raised more than £650 – the highest ever amount – and a portion will go to the Janice Jamieson Memorial Trust Fund to sponsor a child through their education in Malawi.

Molly Houston, together with Andrew Mackenzie, raised £28.35 of the total by selling Children in Need cakes and chocolate crispies to staff.

Meanwhile, Lochrutton Primary held a soup and pudding lunch.

Members of the community were welcome to head along and during the day there were other activities including face painting, nails, glitter tattoos and games.

The school raised the total of £297 for the BBC appeal.
