Dalai Lama pokes fun at Donald Trump with amusing impersonation

The Dalai Lama might never have come face to face with Donald Trump but he’s clearly been studying him closely on the television.

Exhibiting his humorous side, Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader mocked the Republican presidential candidate’s trademark straw-coloured barnet and his o-shaped mouth.

While the two might appear to somewhat differ spiritually and ideologically, the Nobel Peace Prize winner said he would be up for meeting Mr Trump if he were to voted in as president.

When probed about how he felt about the mogul-turned-politico by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, the Dalai Lama decided not to delve into politics and kept it strictly comical.

“I don't know, sometimes when you see him,” the 81-year-old replied. “The way his hair... [puts hand on forehead]... and his mouth is small [mimics Trump's mouth]... that is my impression of him but I don't know.”

Of course, the Dalai Lama is not the only one to have mimicked Mr Trump. Last year Jimmy Fallon went a step further and plastered (or you could say “tangoed”) himself in fake spray tan and a blonde wig. “Thank me, thank me,” he shushed a sreaming crowd of faux supporters. “Thank me very much.”

Meryl Streep also impersonated Mr Trump at a gala benefit for the Public Theatre in New York in June, donning a blonde wig, a red tie and even a fake belly.
