Well, that didn’t take long. Just when you thought The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast might get a breather from the rumour mill, Dakota Mortensen has had to jump on TikTok to swat away the latest: that he’s expecting another baby after his split from Taylor Frankie Paul.
Spoiler alert — he’s not, and he’s more than a little baffled by the suggestion.
“I am not having a kid with anybody. I haven’t slept with anyone since I have dated Taylor until now,” Dakota told his followers in a TikTok video posted on May 30, captioned with a very clear “No babies on the way”.
If you’re keeping score at home, that’s a pretty direct way to say, ‘please stop tagging me in your pregnancy announcements’.
Where did this Dakota Mortensen baby rumour even come from?
Apparently, the drama started when a TikTok personality joked in the comments that Dakota was the father of her baby, as reported by Us Weekly. This then got picked up by other users on TikTok and the rumour spread like wildfire.
Taylor, never one to miss a punchline, jumped in with, “A girl claiming to be having his baby as I’m putting myself in timeout for actually being his bm [baby mama],” before clarifying, “Oh this is new news.. jokes or not never can be too sure now.”
Dakota, for his part, seemed more bemused than anything: “I just wanted to clear the air because there’s a few girls out here that said they are even pregnant with my child. Lots of crazy stuff but anyways, no baby coming!”

For those who haven’t been glued to the Mormon Wives drama, here’s the quick and dirty. Dakota and Taylor share a one-year-old son, Ever, and have been navigating the awkward waters of coparenting since their split.
