While the quarterback carousel churns on in the NFL and fans in Washington D.C. search for their next guy, there was a bit of a pipe dream bubbling under the surface that the Dallas Cowboys would be stupid enough to let QB Dak Prescott hit free agency this offseason instead of signing him to a long-term contract.
Well, part of that might be true, with a report from Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport saying that Dallas may not sign Prescott to a long-term deal, but they will franchise tag him if that is not accomplished before the March 9th deadline.

In all likelihood, this means that Prescott won’t be available for Washington to bring in, this year at least. There is still a chance, though, that the Cowboys let Prescott go at some point in the next couple of years, and depending on Washington’s QB situation, we may be able to revisit this conversation.
As for seeing No. 4 in a Washington uniform in 2021, however, it seems to be out the window at this point.
