Dak Prescott on Jason Garrett: Giants are getting a great coach

Dallas Cowboys quarterback may not want to ask the advice of Aaron Rodgers regarding his new head coach, Mike McCarthy, but has no problem singing the praises of his former coach, Jason Garrett.

Garrett, of course, is now the New York Giants’ offensive coordinator under new head coach Joe Judge and will be working closely with second-year quarterback Daniel Jones.

“They’re getting a great coach,” Prescott said of Garrett, via NJ Advance Media. “A smart coach. As great at preparing and as professional as any I have ever seen… I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done for my career. Believing in me to drive me and push me to be the player that I have become. I’m thankful for his impact.”

About the Rodgers angle, Prescott feels he wants his relationship with McCarthy to begin with a clean slate and no predilections.

“I don’t care to get a feel from somebody else off of their judgment or their relationship. I know relationships are completely individual and I don’t even want to warp my mind off of what somebody else thinks,” said Prescott, via Pro Football Talk.

Should Jones do this as well, then? That’s up to him, but the relationship between Prescott and Garrett is a lot more solid than Rodgers’ was with McCarthy so perhaps he should listen to what Dak has to say.
