The nation’s favourite duo Maura Derrane and Daithi O Se have said they are both thrilled to be back on air for an eighth season.
The Today Show kicked off on Monday and the RTE presenters said viewers will see a shake-up to the programme.
Daithi said: “It’s great to be back on air with Maura.
“We meet so many people and like to keep those at home entertained too and you’re set to see new faces this season.
“We have new chefs in the kitchen as well as some new journalists on the news panel discussing both local and national news.
“And we have new reporters on board too who will be travelling around the country to visit towns and scope out events that are taking place nationwide.
“There’s something for everyone on the show, we like to cover some real life stories and we meet extraordinary people but we will have a bit of craic too.”
This year’s season is about positivity and the show’s theme is focused on being a happy escape for those sitting at home watching in the evening.
New reporters include James Patrice, Trishauna Archer, Keith Walsh and Ciara King.
Presenter Blathnaid Treacy will join Pat Fitzpatrick on the sofa every Thursday to discuss all the latest entertainment news.
Maura said: “It’s fabulous to be back on air again.
“We’re really looking forward to another great year of entertaining our audiences with great guests in lifestyle, fashion and fun.
“Mark Rodgers from Benefit cosmetics will be here to do the makeovers and we will have plenty of celebrity faces.
“We are also introducing a new health and well-being segment on the show that we think our audience will enjoy.
“We have amazing prizes, this week we are giving away €8,000 to one lucky viewer.”
The Today Show broadcasts 160 episodes, producing more than 300 hours of live television every season.
