Star Wars 9: Daisy Ridley teases Rey's final shot in The Rise of Skywalker

Daisy Ridley has teased her final shot in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and it sounds like it was a very emotional scene.

The actor, who plays young Jedi Rey in the franchise, revealed how she became extremely tearful when filming her “dramatic” last scene in the film.

“I was the last person to wrap,” Ridley told the Couch Surfing podcast, “It was my final shot and I’m just crying in the shot… It was incredibly dramatic.”

Revealing how emotional she was on leaving set for the last time, Ridley said: “I hugged a number of people and then got in the car and looked out the window like I was in a music video: tears rolling down my face, hand to the window, thinking about days gone past.”

The ninth Star Wars film is believed to be the last starring Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on Thursday 19 December.
