Dains Accountants reports ‘golden year’ as turnover and profits surge

A firm of accountants with offices across the Midlands is celebrating a ‘golden year’ after seeing a surge in turnover and profits.

Dains Accountants, which has a presence in Birmingham, Lichfield, Burton, Derby and Stoke, said that in its 2018/19 financial year, it achieved record turnover and a 60% increase in profits.

During the past 12 months, the company has added new services, helping to extend its client base.

These include its Assurance Plus+ Service, which helps businesses to manage risk and protect themselves against financial crime.

Richard McNeilly, managing partner at Dains, said: “We value our clients and our clients value what we do, so our own success is tangible with client success.

“Progressive businesses find us to be a natural partner as we don’t spend time talking about what we are going to do, we just get on and do it.

“We don’t chase every business in the market but concentrate on giving a first-class service to ambitious clients and delivering services tailored to meet their individual objectives.”

Dains said in the past year, just over 50 new staff had joined the business, with seven graduates joining its network of offices.

During the year, the firm also achieved the Investors in People Gold Standard, recognising the company’s commitment to people and the role they play in its success.

Mr McNeilly said: “People are at the core of our business and without them this success wouldn’t have been possible.

“In recognition of this, staff received profit-related bonuses and are also benefiting from flexible smart working and other incentives such as enhanced holiday packages.”
