Coronavirus cases have increased by 60 across the city and county in the past 24 hours, according to the latest Government data.
A total of 21 new cases were reported in Nottingham city, bringing the total to 1,608.
In Nottinghamshire, cases increased by 39, bringing the total to 3,898.
Rushcliffe was again the most affected area in the past 24 hours, but all areas of the wider county reported more cases.
The increase of 60 cases is a surge on the previous 24 hours as of 4pm on September 18, when the city and county reported 38 new cases.
This is the current breakdown of confirmed infections for each part of Nottinghamshire region:
- Ashfield - 694 ( increase of five )
- Bassetlaw - 693 ( increase of four )
- Broxtowe - 574 ( increase of four )
- Gedling - 462 ( increase of two )
- Mansfield - 455 ( increase of seven )
- Newark and Sherwood - 508 ( increase of six )
- Rushcliffe - 512 ( increase of 11 )
It comes as the UK reports a spike in positive tests, leading to health officials and MPs calling on the Government to take action and increase the availability of testing and a further focus on tracing.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said this morning a fresh national lockdown would be "the last line of defence".
Speaking to the media, he said the Government want to use "local action" to combat the rise in cases, but could not rule out a national lockdown.
In the UK, there were a further 4,322 cases confirmed, bringing the total to 385,936. The increase has led to several north-east councils being handed stricter measures to stem the spread.
