On the one hand, Patricio Freire has more than proven himself in the Bellator cage. The company mainstay is the Bellator lightweight and featherweight champion, and you don’t get to that status without being really, really good at what you do.
On the other? “Pitbull” is going to have run the gauntlet in the upcoming featherweight grand prix tournament, potentially defending his title four times to get to the tourney championship and $1 million prize that goes with it, beginning with his Sept. 28 title defense against Juan Archuleta in Inglewood, Calif.
So, who are you betting on? Will Pitbull retain his belt throughout, or will a field which includes the likes or A.J. McKee, Darrion Caldwell, Pat Curran, and Daniel Straus knock off the king somewhere along the way?
