Dail chaos as Cabinet and Dr Ronan Glynn restricting movements after Health Minister Stephen Donnelly gets Covid test

The Cabinet and Acting CMO are restricting movements after the Minister for Health reported he may have Covid-19.

Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl had adjourned the Dáil indefinitely as confusion reigns in Leinster House - they are now expected to return on Tuesday night however.

The Dáil chairman earlier announced out of the blue that he was shutting down proceedings because the entire Cabinet is going into self-isolation as a precaution.

It emerged this afternoon that Stephen Donnelly has gone into self-isolation with suspected coronavirus.

The Minister is going to be being tested for Covid-19 after he became unwell following his joint presentation of the new Living with Covid roadmap earlier today.

It is understood that Mr Donnelly sought the advice of the Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn, after he started feeling sick.

Dr Glynn advised him to play it safe and to get in touch with his GP to go get tested for Covid.

Mr Donnelly will be keeping himself out of commission until he gets the all-clear and his public duties will be taken over by his junior ministers.

This would have included questions in the Dáil tonight.
