Dado Prso's nephew on how uncle's Rangers journey inspired him as promising youngster targets big transfer

Dado Prso's nephew has revealed his plan to follow in his Rangers hero uncle's footsteps.

Former Bayern Munich and Dinamo Zagreb man Luka Prso is now on the books at Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia.

Prso was born in Sydney but has been playing in Europe since he was 13.

The teenager recently caught the eye in an Australian Under-20s talent identification camp, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Utrecht’s under-19s side.

And the gifted youngster is adamant his family ties to the Rangers front-man are a constant inspiration as he pursues a bright future for club and country.

Luka told The World Game : “I look at his (Dado Prso’s) story.

“He was working a regular job up until 22, 23 and then he moved to France and he got into professional football. It’s really inspiring.

“He went on to play for his country and have a good career. He’s been a big inspiration for me.

“There’s a definite pathway for young players trying to get some exposure (at Olimpija). I think the environment – the coaching, the people around the club – are really helpful and supportive.

“That was one of the main reasons why I and my family chose to make that move. I still have a little while left on my contract - but there’s quite a bit of interest in me.

“I’m not sure what’s going to happen in the summer transfer window. If I do stay, the plan is to crack into that first-team as soon as possible.”

Dado played for the Ibrox side between 2004 and 2007, with boss Alex McLeish later hailing him as his best signing.

He won two SPL titles and two Scottish Cups over the three years.
