Dado Prso reveals the Rangers red carpet treatment that convinced him to knock back AC Milan

In-demand Dado Prso has revealed the real reason why he chose to sign for Rangers rather than AC Milan

The Croatian striker was once described by former Rangers boss Alex McLeish as his 'best ever signing' and the Ibrox side's decision to send a private jet to collect him certainly impressed.

Prso is now an agent in his homeland and the 45-year-old has revealed how the injuries he picked up at Ibrox have taken its toll.

But, looking back over his career, the 32-capped international insisted he had no regrets turning down Serie A giants AC Milan to sign for Rangers when he was at Monaco in 2004.

Asked about whether he was sorry he never got to play a farewell game for Rangers before his retirement, Prso said: "I'm not one for looking back and asking for sympathy.

"For me, it was sentimental enough when they applauded me

"I don't regret signing for Rangers over Milan. I was a fan of AC Milan, but they weren't very professional.

"As soon as the chairman of Rangers spoke to me it was all over. They even sent a private plane to pick me up.

"That was in complete contrast to Milan, who kept changing their minds.

"I went to Glasgow and don't regret a second.

"I now work for my brother-in-law's football agency. We have many players in Monaco, Nice, Metz and in Croatia too.

"Unfortunately, I am in retirement as far as even playing kick-about football goes.

"My knees immediately blow up. My doctors told me I have the knees of an 80 year old man and I need to be careful. Walking is not a problem, but I can't run."
