Dad wins Internet with this amazing parenting hack which is said to work in 90% cases

With over 3 million views and still counting, this amazing parenting idea from a father to soothe his 18 month old child is winning over the internet. In the video, the father can be seen talking to his child, reports have said.

"Okay, my boy," he said. "Okay, my boy," says the father while trying to talk to the crying child. While the child continues crying for a while the father remains calm and gently rocks him. However, the rocking technique is a bit different than what parents usually do to stop a crying child.

Swaddle, hold at 45 degree angle, gently rock

It is said that this method works on up to 90 per cent babies. This trick was introduced by Dr. Robert Hamilton in 2015. He gave this unique stress-saving technique to parents through this YouTube channel.

Dr Hamilton’s video has been seen by over 53 million times and goes by the name "The Hold"

So what is the trick?

The trick lies in placing the child in a comforting position, which is, the doctor explains, the same position as it was in its mother's womb.

Take the baby in your armsFold the child's arms across the chest as a self hugSecure the arms gentlyComfort the chin of the baby with your palmGive the hind portion or the diaper area of the child support with another palmHold the child at 45 degree angleShake the hind area gentlyGently rock the child up and down

This soothes the baby faster than any other technique.

It doesn't work on infants who are ill or hungry, Dr Hamilton says in his YouTube video and adds that the method will only work on children up to three months old. After that, they become "too heavy" to be held in the method's final, angled position, he says.

Parenting is a blessing no doubt, coming up with new techniques to ace parenting is commendable.
