Dad who walked out family house four years ago and has never been heard from again

A woman who's partner has been missing for four years said she "still lives in wonder" and just wants him to let the family know he's ok.

Marie Comber had been with Trevor Farthing for 30 years when he disappeared in 2017 and was never heard from again.

Trevor, who would now be 56, left his home in Newton-le-Willows wearing a khaki green T-shirt and blue denim jeans on June 21, 2017.

The dad was last seen on Marshalls Cross Road, St Helens, at around 9.30am and Merseyside Police have repeatedly appealed for information about his whereabouts.

As the four-year anniversary of his disappearance approaches, partner Marie said "no matter what week, what month, what time" the family still miss him and still wonder where he is.

She told the ECHO : "It’s still hard - it's no different from when he first went missing. We’re still looking for him.

"Everywhere you go you’re looking. You're looking at people, checking their faces out. You see someone who is down and out, you’re checking them. You see somebody with a grey beard with a little bit of a limp -anything that reminds you of him you’re looking for all the time.

"It’s very important for me to find out where he is. If he’s still around I'd like to think he’s happy and getting on with it but it would be nice to know he’s ok because every day for me is a wonder.

"I can get up in the morning and my first thought is Trevor because my house has still got all of Trevor’s stuff everywhere.

"No matter what week, what month, what time we’re on we still miss him and still wonder where he is. Is he ok, is he not ok."

Marie said their three daughters, Gemma, 36, Megan 27, and Faye 19, still wonder where he is and that Trevor now has three beautiful grandchildren who "he would love."

Marie said: "He was a lovely person, he was chatty. He was quite outgoing but he kept things to himself, like a lot of people do.

"He liked walking with the dogs, he liked creating things. He liked making catapults and stuff like that. He was just a nice genuine person, if you needed help he’d help you out."

Since speaking to the ECHO at Christmas time, Marie said the family have not heard any new information.

She said: "We’ve had nothing at all. I think that’s what makes it harder.

"This may sound selfish on my behalf, but when other people lose people, they know where they’re going. But I don't know where he is, if he’s alive or if he’s dead and that's so hard

"Any information, no matter how small for me is really good information. It would help in us trying to find where he is. Just anything to let us know he’s ok."

The family are still actively sharing appeals for information on social media and Maria said the community have been "absolutely great" in showing support and getting the word out.

If you know where Trevor Farthing is, please contact Merseyside Police or the Missing People charity (Geoff Davies)

Marie said: "It’s very hard, you just smile and wave as they say, you hide behind the smiles all the time.

"I’m not feeling very good, I've had a very hard four years. I kind of take each day as it comes really. He’s really missed by us all.

‘Trevor if you're out there please get in touch. Go into a shop and if you cant physically do it yourself ask somebody to let the police know or me know.

"Please let us know you're ok. "

Trevor is described as 5ft5 with a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm and has a large black scorpion tattoo on the top of his left arm.

When he was last seen, Trevor was wearing a green t-shirt, blue denim jeans, walking boots and a Nike cap.
