Dad who ran off with Ukrainian refugee releases RAP video to 'reveal the truth'

A man who left his family to start a relationship with a Ukrainian refugee that they took in has released a defiant rap song in which he boasts he stands "by what I've done".

Tony Garnett, 29, ran off with 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym 10 days after he and Lorna, 28, welcomed her into their home. The couple is now making plans to start a family and Tony is pursuing a new career in rap music.

It comes as Tony has been hit with a restraining order by Lorna.

The former security guard released a rap song via YouTube last night to "reveal the real truth" about what happened, and said it was written in "less than an hour".

The two-minute and 53-second song starts out with him describing himself as a "wolf in sheep's clothing" and that he has been made "famous by the media".

The song, which has just over 500 views at the time of writing, also explains he stands "by what I've done" in an apparent reference to leaving Lorna for Sofiia.

He later references the two women by their hair colour when he says: "I'm now with a blonde, but my ex is a brunette."

In the song, titled 'Ukraine to UK rain', he goes on to claim he "tried" for the relationship but he needed to "leave regardless", adding that he isn't "heartless".

Tony goes on to rap about he says he was doing the right thing by saving "someone from Ukraine".

Tony is now prohibited from contacting Lorna - the mum of his two young daughters - or being within 100 metres of their former family home after being hit with a restraining order.

The order has been placed following a court hearing in which Lorna claimed Tony sent abusive text messages to her.

The non-molestation restraining order, which Tony agreed to without admissions, prevents him from getting in touch with Lorna via phone, text message, email or social media, the Sun reported.

He told the paper: “If it helps her sleep at night then so be it.

“I know the truth. I’ve done nothing wrong. I didn’t turn up with a solicitor because I don’t have anything to defend. Sadly, this is turning into an episode of Jeremy Kyle.”

Lorna, who never married Tony but did take his surname via deed poll, says she would like nothing more to do with her ex and wants him to leave her alone.

Both attended the hearing at Bradford county court. Lorna listened to her solicitor set out the conditions of the restraining order from the back of the courtroom.

Tony, who wore sunglasses and a grey chequered suit, told the court: “I’m that busy now with media, TV and music that I don’t need to go to the house.”

Sofiia was not present at the hearing.
