A dad has lost his court battle to stop his seven-year-old son transitioning to a female.
Jeff Younger has been locked in a bitter disagreement with his ex-wife Anne Georgulas over their son James' decision which he claims is against the youngster's will.
Ms Georgulas said her son started requesting girl-themed toys and imitating female Disney characters before she took the child to see a gender therapist.
But Mr Younger alleges the youngster has been manipulated into wearing dresses and told: "monsters only eat boys".
And he refuses to believe James has gender dysphoria and instead said he was just experiencing some confusion with gender.
In a desperate attempt to prevent the process, Mr Younger turned to the courts to obtain sole custody of James and his twin brother Jude.
However, after a week-long trial the jury in Dallas, Texas, ruled against him and gave Ms Georgulas sole managing guardianship.
A judge is expected to make a final decision on the custody verdict later this week.
Ms Georgulas had argued that three mental health professionals had diagnosed the child with gender dysphoria.
She said therapists had also recommended they start using the name Luna instead of James. The child currently identifies as a girl at school and is called Luna by her teachers.
Ms Georgulas will also now be able to allow the child to undergo hormone replacement therapy.
Meanwhile, Mr Younger, who has moral and religious objections, told a podcast earlier this year that his child is not a girl and "violently refuses to dress as girl at my house".
He said: "I want you to imagine having electronic communication with your son on FaceTime, and imagine that your ex-wife has dressed him as a drag queen to talk to you.
"He has false eyelashes and makeup. His hair has got glitter in it. He's wearing a dress.
"Now imagine how you would feel seeing what I believe is actual sexual abuse - I believe this is not just emotional abuse but is the very, most fundamental form of sexual abuse, tampering with the sexual identity of a vulnerable boy. Every. Single. Day."
Websites and Facebook groups called 'Save James' have been set up and there is a GoFundMe page with around $40,000 in donations to help with Mr Younger's court costs.
