Dad shares genius way to get children to clean their room

We all remember having a few arguments with parents about having to clean our childhood bedrooms after they had gotten completely out of control, but one dad was so fed up having the conversation with his kids that he took matters into his own hands.

The intuitive dad took to Facebook to share his fantastic ideas of scaring his children into keeping their bedrooms tidy.

He said: “So, I have teenage kids. I’m always arguing with them about not eating in their room, returning dirty dishes to the kitchen.

“I threatened that they're going to end up with a mouse in their room that will brings friends to the house... I got tired of singing the same song and decided to teach them a lesson.

“I went to Whole Foods, purchased some black rice and sprinkled it in their closet, under their bed, I even added a few under their covers.

“It looks like mice droppings and it scared the sh** out of them. Needless to say- we don’t have that room cleaning issue any more.”

The post has since gathered over 10,000 likes from parents and has been shared over 89,000 times by people who thought the prank was a great way of teaching their children a lesson.

One user said: “I’m definitely doing this!!!!! An we live by the woods to but I wonder if they have bigger ones like this in the picture because I always tell my kids about them gopher rats lol”.

Another said: “I’m stealing this idea, but with my luck they’ll want to feed the poor mice I know that my son would have definitely fed mice!”

Some parents suggested other ways to use the trick if you cannot find black rice.

One said: “Don’t waste the good rice doing this. Spay paint that white rice.”

Another said: “My daughter did the same thing, always eating in room, I put FAKE spider one in bed she never ate in there again.”
