Dad says Pontins trip has 'undone three months of counselling for him'

A man said he found "human faeces" smeared on the sink at a Pontins chalet he was staying at with his family.

George Bradshaw, 43, and his wife Katie, 37, visited the holiday company's Camber Sands resort with their five children and George's brother.

The trip was booked last minute plans to enjoy a week away in August and the family spent a significant amount, thinking that they would be in for a treat, reports MirrorOnline.

Instead they now claim they were greeted by rude staff and appalling accommodatio n, with George vowing never to return.

George, from south-east London, said: "It was a last minute thing. We looked online and Pontins came up.

"I thought it was a big name, we wouldn't have any problems there. How wrong I was."

As well as the sink, the family found a broken smoke alarm and damp and dirty conditions in the two chalets that they booked. The family said they were immediately disgusted upon their arrival.

Describing the chalets George added: "We walked in and there was human faeces wiped around the base of the sink.

"There was a plant growing out of the walls, the chest of drawers - it was hanging off.

"There were marks all over the floors and the doors wouldn't lock properly."

As well as the accommodation being of poor quality, George also accused the staff of having poor attitudes.

He said he came to blows with the staff members after a confusion over tickets for a character breakfast.

The dad-of-five said: "I had a meltdown. They had an event running for the children. It was a breakfast with the characters they have.

"It was £3 a child. My brother paid for them. The next morning, the kids have gone up to queue for the breakfast with my eldest daughter.

"She phoned me and said: 'They've told us we have the wrong tickets'."

George joined his family to see what was going on and he said that one of the Bluecoat inhouse entertainers then got involved. He said that the Bluecoat claimed they would not have sold him the ticket that he had.

He said: "Then the manager came out and said it was my fault - it should have been a pink ticket, not a blue ticket.

"How am I supposed to know that?

"The staff are just rude. The Bluecoat, when I was arguing about that breakfast, just said: 'Go away'. You can't treat people like that."

Before visiting the resort George had suffered from mental health issues and claims that the visit has exacerbated this.

He said: "The state of the place we stayed in - it's just disgusting.

"They have undone three months of counselling and medication for me."
