Dad says 'I need my babies back' after kids and mum among four found dead in house

The dad of two children found dead in a home over the weekend has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his "angels".

Jason Bennett described his heartbreak following the deaths of son and daughter Lacey in Killamarsh.

A murder probe has opened after four people were found dead at the address on Sunday, with one man arrested.

It is understood that John and Lacey's mum Terri and a third child also died in the tragedy.

Nearby secondary school Outwood Academy City said it would be closed today after three of its pupils were involved in the incident.

Mr Bennett wrote, Derbyshire Live reports : "I need my babies back. Life will never be the same. My angels. Won't be long till I'm touching your cheeks, holding you close and kissing your beautiful faces. Only you two can fix me".

In another post from Sunday night, he wrote: "Absolutely heartbroken my heart into a million pieces. I didn't protect my beautiful babies enough and now they have been suddenly taken away from me.

"I'm writing this as I'm lost and broken on a 4-hour drive back home having just received heart-breaking news that my beautiful boy John and beautiful daughter Lacey have been taken away from me.

The news has left neighbours shell-shocked.

One neighbour told Derbyshire Live he used to see children playing in the front garden.

"I’m shocked that the kids are gone," he said.

“I’ve been here about a year and two months and it’s been quiet - nothing like this.

“I think people will be devastated to be honest with you.”

Derbyshire police says it believes this is an isolated incident and it is not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

In a statement, the force said: "A murder investigation has been launched. At this time we believe the incident to be isolated, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths."
