Dad says he was 'disgusted' after McDonald's meal he ordered was 'crawling with insects'

A McDonald's customer was reportedly left disgusted after chomping down on his Big Mac burger only to find it crawling with insects.

Craig Till claims to have been sickened by the gruesome find after visiting the fast food branch on Colorado Way, Castleford on Thursday, October, 14.

Craig's eight-year-old son, who he often takes to McDonald's as a special treat, has also been left upset as they "won't be returning again", according to Yorkshire Live.

The 36-year-old discovered the flies were "still alive" after biting in to the burger before "immediately spitting it out."

Craig said: "I went to McDonald's drive thru as I fancied a double big mac meal, ordered one with my card, got home opened the box and saw around 3 or 4 moving flies on the burger.

"It has definitely put me off returning, my son loves McDonald's so now he is upset because we won't be having it again due to this, it made me feel sick and disgusted."

The horrified customer took pictures of the insect infested feast and posted to Facebook in a bid to "make people in the local area aware."

The post read: "Been to McDonald's near Xscape and got a burger also some flies absolutely disgusting!!!!"

Craig complained to the branch who offered him another burger, when he refused he was offered a refund however he decided it would not be beneficial for him to travel back to the restaurant.

He said: "They offered me another burger but I said no then they offered a refund but it would cost me the amount I paid for my meal in diesel to go back."

Craig has also contacted trading standards and FSSAI over the incident.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said : "“Food safety and quality is of the utmost importance to us. We place great emphasis on quality control and follow rigorous standards in order to avoid any imperfections.

"As soon as this was brought to our attention, the customer was offered a full refund and a replacement meal. We asked the customer to return the burger so that we could investigate further but we have not heard back.”
