A dad has told how his young daughter bit into a slice of Soreen on her way to school and found inside what he believes are strands from a factory hair net.
Phil Wernham said his five-year-old daughter Eliza was left 'upset' after coughing in the car.
Phil and his wife Sophie gave the M.E.N. photographs showing the bite Eliza took from the malt loaf slice.
Soreen, which originated in Manchester and has a huge plant in Trafford Park, said it would be investigating after the family contacted the company to complain.
A spokesman said the health and safety of its consumers was of utmost importance.
The chewed piece of Soreen has been returned to them.

Phil, a 38-year-old window cleaner who lives with his wife and their three children in Stalybridge, Tameside, said: "Eliza only had her first taste of Soreen at her grandparent's after school on Wednesday and loved it.
"I was brought up with it as a kid myself but Eliza had just never had it before.
"Her mum went out and bought some as a result.
"We were running a bit late for school and we cut some Soreen up and put it in a Tupperware box with some fruit for Eliza's breakfast.

"She was in the car going to school and started to cough.
"Sophie pulled over and realised what the problem was.

"For me, looking at it, I think its a hair net or a beard net that they have to wear in the factory.
"Whatever it is, it is not very nice."
Phil said he contacted Soreen on the phone - and said they apologised.
"They have been very pleasant on the phone but I am not happy that my daughter has had to go through this.
"She was upset in the car."
Sophie said they took the piece of Soreen to the plant in Trafford Park to hand it in on Thursday and Soreen apologised.

The M.E.N. contacted Soreen for comment and send the company the photographs.
Technical manager Andy Ashton said: "We were contacted by this consumer on Thursday and they have now returned the product to us for investigation.
"The health and safety of our consumers is of utmost importance to us."
