Dad's OXO cube trick to make perfect crispy roast potatoes for just 30p

If you’re looking for a way to impress your family during lockdown with your cooking skills – look no further.

One home cook has shared his clever hack to make perfect crispy roast potatoes.

And you don't need to be a whizz in the kitchen to whip up a batch.

Andrew Price, 37, shared his mouth-watering recipe that uses a few ingredients and will set you back just 30p, The Daily Star reports.

The dad-of-six, from Limerick, posted his tasty recipe on Facebook page Rate My Plate Éire.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes

  • 2 chicken OXO cubes

  • Oil

  • Onion

  • Garlic

  • Seasoning

Method

  1. Par boil the potatoes and put them in oven proof dish.

  2. Toss in oil and add the OXO cube [made into liquid stock with half a cup of water] and seasoning

  3. Add a chopped up onion and a couple of cloves of garlic

  4. Put them into the oven at 160 degrees for three hours

Andrew cooks his spuds for quite a while to get them so delicious and crunchy.

He added: “Low and slow is best.”

The dad adds a chopped up onion and garlic to the roasties.

Andrew told Daily Star Online that he posts his cooking “as a way of helping others and inspiring people to cook nice and different meals at home.”
