A dad has left a heartbreaking tribute to his "beautiful" daughter who died while giving birth to a healthy baby boy .
Stacy Louise Joyce, 26, from Drumchapel, Glasgow, passed away suddenly during childbirth on Saturday.
Her devastated father John Joyce shared news of the tragedy on social media and described his family's anguish at her passing.
John asked: "How can someone so special give me this perfect grandson and leave us?"
He wrote on Facebook yesterday morning: "Stacey was sadly taking away from us while giving birth to a perfectly wee over 8lb healthy baby boy. We promise you one thing Stacy that wee stunner will be looked after like you’ll never know.
"I promise you that with every breath I’ll ever take your now with your grandas now. Fly high my princess."

In another post, John added: "How can someone so special give me this perfect grandson and leave us with so much devastation Stacy???
"You'll never believe how much I miss you already n love this wee guy so much things will never ever be the same. How the f*** does anybody deal with this??? Please give your mum, son, brother, sister the strength to get through this nightmare."
Hundreds of friends and family have offered their support and described tragic Stacey as a "beautiful girl inside and out."
Friend Nicolle Fullerton said: "This is one horrible and cruel world wee live in. I’m absolutely heart broken for you Stacy. I can’t believe your life’s been taking away from you."
Sarah Jane Smith said: "Stacy Louise Joyce thinking of your baby boy and family at this heartbreaking time.
"RIP you were the most beautiful girl inside and out."
Kimberly Hall said: "My thoughts, love and prayers to John Joyce and the whole family on a day which should be the best day, ever becoming grandparents and gaining a new family member, to losing their child."
