Dad's death at Glasgow police station to be probed at inquiry

A fresh date has been set for a preliminary hearing into the death of a young dad at a Glasgow police office.

The hearing will be held at Glasgow Sheriff Court on February 8, more than two years after James McMillan passed away at Stewart Street station in the city centre.

The 35-year-old Kirktilloch man was in police custody when the tragedy happened after being arrested in May 2018.

The incident was reported to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) at the time, the outcome of which is expected to be discussed at the hearing.

The hearing next month is one the first stages of a Fatal Accident Inquiry, will a full hearing expected to be scheduled soon.
