Dad 'pinned down attacker' who kicked teen in the head outside McDonalds

A passerby held down an 'attacker' who 'kicked a teenager in the head' outside of Mcdonalds.

The Liverpool man, who asked to remain anonymous, was walking up Lord Street in Liverpool City Centre when he heard a group of people arguing by the McDonalds.

He then said he saw three men, dressed in black, start kicking another man in a green coat in the head.

The chaotic brawl was caught on camera at around 1.45pm, and the video starts with a large crowd of people gathering around and a man in a green coat can be seen on the floor.

The man said: "Three lads started attacking these two friends, a lad in a green coat and a girl, and they just wouldn't stop.

"I couldn't just walk past, so I grabbed one of the lads wearing black and held him down.

"For people commenting saying 'let them get on with it', I couldn't. That could have been my son."

At one point during the brawl a man with a walking stick falls over after being pushed before he gets up.

The person in the green coat gets up and also runs away from the fight.

Shouting and screaming can be heard as bystanders look on and appear to try and break up the fight.

The man who helped break up the fight explained how it carried on after the group moved towards HSBC bank.

He said: "Me and another person tried to break it up again and the police arrived about ten minutes later.

"I don't know how injured the guy was because he walked away once it calmed down."

Merseyside Police was approached for comment and it is unclear if anyone was injured.
