A father-of-two caught on camera being chased naked by police through a wealthy London suburb has died while on remand in prison.
Ross Springham, 29, was awaiting sentence in Wandsworth jail, south London, after pleading guilty to indecent exposure in connection with the incident.
Worried residents had called police after he was spotted running nude through the streets of Notting Hill in west London on the morning of Sunday February 21.
When officers arrived at the scene, Springham legged it and he was filmed being chased past shops and businesses without any clothes on.
Springham, of no fixed address but originally from Northamptonshire, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
He pleaded guilty when he appeared in court the following day and was remanded in custody while a pre-sentence report was prepared by the Probation Service.
Springham had originally been due to be sentenced on March 16, but the hearing was adjourned as he was due to undergo a mental health assessment by doctors.
However, he died four days later. No cause of death has been made public and the case is expected to be referred to a Coroner.
His death has been referred to the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman which investigates fatal incidents in custody.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "HMP Wandsworth prisoner Ross Springham died in hospital on March 20.
"The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed."
The Ministry of Justice confirmed that they "cannot confirm the cause of death which is rightly a matter for the Coroner."
During the streaking incident, three cops were filmed chasing Springham.
The bizarre chase was captured on video by a passing delivery cyclist.
Three police officers were filmed in hot pursuit of the nude suspect as he legged it past shops and businesses without any clothes on during the wintery weather.
Pedro Lula, 39, who witnessed the chase, said: "I was out making a delivery on my bike when I looked up and a naked man ran past.
“I was checking an address on my phone and just started filming.”
