Dad-of-three who died suddenly is told to 'watch over his girls' by devastated friends

Tributes have been paid to an "amazing" dad-of-three who died suddenly with his wife by his bedside.

Dean Davies from Wirral, was rushed to Wythenshawe Hospital on May 19, after he began suffering from problems with his heart.

The 33-year-old, who beat cancer twice, had to undergo open heart surgery for 12 hours to repair a ruptured valve before he was transferred to intensive care.

He sadly died the following morning with his childhood sweetheart Sam Mollard, 33, by his side.

Dean and Sam first met when they were 16 and had three daughters aged eight, three, and two, together.

Following the news of his death, dozens of Dean's friends and loved ones shared tributes to him on the ECHO's Facebook page.

Hayley Maney said: "Sleep sweet Dean. I will never forget the laughs in work.

"The world has lost an amazing man too soon.

"Thoughts are with his beautiful wife Sam and your beautiful girls."

Friend Emma Bassett who set up a Just Giving page to help the family, described Dean as "one of the best men to ever be called my friend."

She added: "I'll never forget everything he did for me in my hardest of times. Dean and Sam are one of the nicest and kindest families you would ever meet. Rip young man, ill miss you terribly."

Sammie Smith wrote: "Such a pleasure to have known you. What a warrior you were.

"Sleep tight and watch over your girls xx."

Louise Ormond said: "Rest in paradise Dean, thoughts are with your wife and your gorgeous girls."

Dean, who had previously been given the all clear from testicular and prostate cancer, was described as a "fighter" by his wife Sam.

She would like to thank all of the staff at Wythenshawe Hospital and Arrowe Park Hospital, as well as the paramedics and first response team who helped him.

Paying tribute Sam wrote: "Dean was my soul mate, first love and best friend. I first met Dean when we were both 16 in college.

"He tried his best to impress me on how brave he was during our first date at the cinema whilst watching a horror film but during one scene he jumped that high he threw all his popcorn over me. I’ve never let him live that down.

"He was a fantastic daddy and his little girls adored him.

"He was always there to help anyone who needed it and was always organising house parties for our friends to come round and try out his weird and wonderful drinks and crazy board games."

Sam continued: "He loved nature and would love to go out for walks with his girls teaching them about all the different birds and insects that they found around all the different locations around Wirral.

"He loved to look for stars and was forever out in the back garden trying to locate them all. All Dean wanted to do was help everyone he could.

"He was my rock and I will cherish the last 17 years of our time together and I take comfort in the knowledge he’ll always be with me and our girls."
