The father of the Plymouth gunman has publicly spoken for the first time since his son killed five people.
Mark Davison told a hearing into Jake Davison's death how he "kicked up a fuss" over how his son managed to obtain a shotgun and how he was dealt with by authorities in the months leading up to the massacre.
Davison, 22, killed five people and himself in Britain's worst mass shooting for more than a decade.
Mark has demanded answers during the short pre-inquest review hearing at Plymouth Coroners' Court, PlymouthLive reports.
Senior coroner Ian Arrow oversaw the second inquest today relating to the shooting on August 12.
He held a pre-inquest review into the deaths of Maxine Davison, Lee Martyn, Sophie Martyn, Katherine Shepherd and Stephen Washington.
The gunman's inquest and his victims are being held separately.
The hearing was attended by a large number of representatives, including those from Devon and Cornwall Police, the Home Office, the Independent Office of Police Conduct as well as legal representatives.
Mr Arrow noted the husband of victim Maxine and the father of Davison were in attendance.
Mr Arrow told the court that the senior barrister representing some of the families had provided him with "some notes dealing with the other areas they are concerned about".
He told Mark: "It won't surprise you to know that they are the manner in which Jake was dealt with prior to the incident and how he came to get the shotgun."
Davison's dad replied: “Yeah, I kicked up a fuss about that too.”
Mr Arrow said those areas of concern would be shared with all the interested parties including Mark.
He also told Mark that his legal representative would "probably ask you if you have any particular areas of concern you would like looked at - and you just mentioned to me that you were concerned that Jake should have had a shotgun".
Mark then replied: "Yes".
Earlier today the IOPC revealed that as well as issuing a police employee a gross misconduct notice they confirmed investigators had seized a "pump-action shotgun" from the Keyham scene and a number of air weapons at Davison's home.
When Mr Arrow explained that there would also be a statement from the Child Death Overview Panel representative but that it should not unduly concern Mark asked: "Is that to do with the victims?"
Mr Arrow replied: "The Child Death Overview Panel is bound to investigate a child's death, and sadly you will be aware there was a child."
Mark interjected: "A three-year-old."
In addition, Mr Arrow said there would be a need for a Domestic Homicide Review Panel "as your wife was killed by your son there's a family dynamic we may be looking at".
During the half-hour hearing, Devon and Cornwall Police's Det Chief Insp Rachel Bentley explained what the police were still waiting for, including a ballistic report from an expert and the interrogation of Davison's phone.
Mr Arrow then adjourned the short hearing until March 15.
