Dad-of-one, 23, still missing after vanishing while changing tyre two weeks ago

A desperate search has been launched to find a dad-of-one who was last seen changing a tyre - nearly two weeks ago.

Jamie Grimwood, 23, stopped to fix the wheel at a garage in Flint, North Wales at around 7:45pm on August 23.

But he then vanished - leaving friends and family worried for his safety, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Jamie's Audi was found nearby, with his phone left inside but devoid of clues as to where he might have been heading.

His parents Lee, 45, and Jacqui, 42, have now issued an appeal for information.

A dedicated Facebook page - 'Finding Jamie Grimwood' - has also been setup.

The missing man, from Runcorn, was filmed on filmed on CCTV in shop in neighbouring Connah’s Quay minutes before he vanished.

Jamie's bank card was also used to buy a bottle of water, and he is believed to have been alone.

He was wearing a black top, trainers and shorts, and the bank card hasn’t been used since.

Mum Jacqui said the disappearance was out of characteras he always kept in touch about where he was.

She said: “His bank card hasn’t been used. He bought a bottle of water with it in the garage.

“He had a problem with his car, he had a problem with his brakes.

“On the CCTV it showed him trying to do whatever, trying to take the wheel off.

“We assume he’s bought a bottle of water to put on his brakes.

“Someone must have seen him change his wheel - he’d actually changed his wheel.”

She added: “He’s never done anything like this before.

“No matter where he goes he was always saying ‘I’m going to be here, then at Costa’.

“His phone was left in the car.

“The police have got all his data with his phone and nothing came back.”

Dad Lee said: “Police have checked everything, they’ve found nothing at all.

“He’s pulled in there to cool his wheel down with the bottle of water.

“We could do with them doing a search and residents to check all the backs and everything.

“What we’re looking for is a location then we can start searching around.

“If the police could get us a location and the direction, at least then we’ll be able to do something.”

North Wales Police issued an appeal over Jamie’s whereabouts late on August 24, reporting that officers had “concerns”.

And the Facebook page has been set up to gather information and details of potential CCTV camera footage and to help to coordinate tracking which areas have been searched.

It also described Jamie as “a kind, caring, amazing person” and anyone who sees him has been encouraged to approach him and ask for a picture to help to either confirm he’s safe or rule someone out.

Anyone with any information regarding the search can visit the Finding Jamie Grimwood page on Facebook, call Jacqui on 07703 579 566 or Lee on 07519 657 087, or police on 101, quoting incident reference Z124541.
