Dad of Jessica Moore pays heartbreaking tribute to 'angel' daughter after school debs tragedy

The dad of a teenage girl who died suddenly at her school debs said “there’s always going to be an “irreplaceable hole in our lives”.

Brendan Moore paid tribute to his daughter Jessica who passed away in on Monday at the Gullane Hotel in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.

He posted: “My little girl is now an angel. There’s always going to be an irreplaceable hole in our lives.

“Rest easy Jess, you’ll never be forgotten.”

The Saint Raphael’s College student had been celebrating with friends when tragedy struck.

Sources said CCTV footage from the venue, which has more than 40 cameras, will form a critical part of the investigation.

A post mortem on the teen’s body was due to be concluded today but it could be several weeks before the toxicology results are known.

A source said: “Jessica took ill, she said to her friends that she wasn’t feeling well and then collapsed – she had an adverse reaction.

“One key area of the investigation will be the toxicology results for the post mortem – that will inform the direction of the investigation.

“There is any number of possibilities here and it will be investigated fully.”

The removal of the teen’s body will take place this afternoon at Kilboy’s Funeral Home, Loughrea.

Jessica will then be laid to rest after Requiem Mass tomorrow at 1pm at Saint Patrick’s Church, Bullaun.

A death notice read: “To the inexpressible grief of her heartbroken parents Brendan and Catherine.

“Cherished and much-loved sister of Cian and Ali.

“Sadly missed by her devoted grandparents Stan and Laura Moore, for ever remembered by her uncles, aunts, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, extended family, neighbours and her many, many friends.”
