A DIY dad has gone viral after giving a hilarious 'Cribs'-style tour of the cafe he built from scratch in his back garden.
Ed Strid, 53, missed going to coffee shops in his hometown of Orange County, California during the coronavirus lockdown and so decided to build his own.
Using scrap he collected, Ed created his garden cafe which he called La Vida.
And he amassed a legion of followers after his proud daughter Julianna tweeted his journey and the MTV style video.
In the clip, Ed stretched out his arms and jokes “welcome to my crib” as he starts the tour.
Ed takes viewers on a tour of his gorgeous café complete with desk, chairs and an extensive drinks menu.
A few weeks ago Ed had told his family: “Yeah I think I’m gonna build a coffee shop in the backyard.”
They all thought he was joking but after three months of hard work, La Vida was open for business in their back garden.
Ed is a contractor and had squirrelled away old materials and items others would deem as rubbish which he repurposed to create his coffee shop.
This included the building structure, doors and the front window.
As shown in the video, the mini cafe is kitted out with tables, chairs. There's even little succulent plants for decoration and tea lights for when it gets dark.
It also boasts a fully functional coffee maker, a beautifully designed menu and plenty of hot beverage options.
The builder turned garden barista gained his inspiration from social media site Pinterest, where he loves looking at little houses and different structures.
There’s a corner with a chess set, where Ed does his “chilling” as he jokes in the video.
His family were totally in awe of his handiwork, and daughter Julianna took to twitter to ensure he got the recognition he deserved.
She told MirrorOnline: “I’ve grown up watching my dad build amazing things around our house and for other people, he is truly an extraordinary builder.
“He has always had a love for coffee and cozy spots and recently decided to fuel that love into something for his own backyard where the family and our guests can sit back, lounge and bond.
“He is a very hardworking man who is all about doing the things he says he’s going to do.
"Something that really makes me proud is his eye for seeing beauty in everything.”
Since seeing people’s love for her dad’s projects Julianna has helped him set up an Instagram account @ELSBUILDS and Youtube account.
The pair will be posting more from the La Vida build and showcasing Ed's future work.
If that’s not father and daughter goals, we don’t know what is!
