Dad demands son's teacher is sacked over 'disgusting' note she left on his homework

A dad called for his son's teacher to be sacked after she left a "rude" note his homework, seemingly mocking his efforts.

Dad Chris Piland, from Pennsylvania, US, was fuming after reading feedback the teacher had left on the maths problems - which had been set for pupils aged seven and eight.

The homework was 60 subtraction problems and children had to solve as many questions in three minutes as they could.

But when his son's teacher had marked his efforts, the dad was outraged to find she had written: 'Absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min! Sad', alongside a drawing of an unhappy face.

Chris took a picture of the offensive note and shared it on social media where it quickly went viral after originally being posted in 2019.

However the picture has resurfaced in recent days and has divided opinion among the other parents , with some labelling the teacher's comments "sickening" and others defending them, reports The Mirror.

Chris had shared the image with the message: "My son's teacher has been so rude to him and myself all year.

"He comes home with this and I am beyond frustrated that someone would write this on a child's work. Such great motivation."

At the time, a petition was launched calling for the teacher to be fired, gaining more than 15,000 signatures - but it was quickly met with a counter petition arguing that the comment should not lead to her dismissal.

Some people expressed their outrage at the feedback left for the young boy, with one writing: "I don’t even have a child and this is sickening to me. This is so beyond unprofessional and just wrong."

Another said: "No teacher has the right to write such awful comments on a young child's work."

But some people lashed out at the replies, LadBible reports, with one saying: "I think her comment was aimed at the parents and perfectly warranted. Get off of social media and practice with your child!"

And another added: "Social media should not be used as a source for unhappy parents. They're calling her a bully, and what are THEY doing to her now?"

The school issued a statement to say that the results of any action taken would not be dictated by views on social media, but by "facts and evidence".

It said: "As always with everything, we're going to try to do what's best for the students and what we need to do for the employee under investigation."
