Dad claims he found 'plastic piece of machinery' in Morrisons ice cream cone

A dad said his daughter had a close call after finding a piece of machinery in her ice cream cone.

Paul Traczykowski, of Highbury Vale, Nottinghamshire, gave his daughter a Morrisons own brand mint ice cream cone to eat on Sunday, February 2.

The 38-year-old, who was raised in Chaddesden, Derby, said after she had eaten most of it, his wife Emma found what appeared to be a plastic piece of machinery lodged inside the cone, reports Derbyshire Live.

He said: “My wife said she had just noticed something inside the cone as she was finishing it and just grabbed it off her.

“She looked inside and it was a piece of plastic. We weren’t very happy and it was a bit of a close call.

“We washed it and it looked like it had come off something in the factory and fell into the cone.

“My wife took a picture and we began looking on the internet to find out what it could be.

“It seems like a piece of machinery that appears to hold the product when they make it and it had just fallen off”.

Emma took a picture of the plastic piece before Paul took to social media to alert Morrisons of the issue.

He contacted the brand via Twitter to let them know of what he found inside the ice cream.

But he claims he “wasn’t listened to” because he didn’t have a receipt despite buying the product two months ago from the Bulwell store.

He said: “I bought them a couple months ago and I didn’t have any packaging left because I unpacked them and left them in the freezer.

“I just wanted to let them know. I didn’t want any refund or anything in return because I don’t want this happening to anyone else.

“But because I didn’t have a receipt, they just didn’t seem to listen. I’m not lying".

A Morrisons spokeswoman said: "We have been trying to contact Paul in order that we can identify what the object is, and so that we can thoroughly investigate the matter."
