The heartbroken dad of a four-year-old boy who was mad about Spider-Man can't have the special headstone he hoped for unless Marvel gives it the green light.
Council officials told Lloyd Jones, 36, he needs permission from the Hollywood comic book giant to feature his son's favourite character at his grave.
Little Ollie Jones died last year from rare and progressive genetic disorder Leukodystrophy, that affects the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
Lloyd was holding his beloved son when he took his final breaths, and says he wants to be able to remember by with his favourite superhero.
The family had hoped to decorate his headstone using the character, but Maidstone Borough Council officials said Marvel would need to give permission first due to copyright issues.
"At the moment, I go to his grave and see flowers," Lloyd said.
"It would be nice to have something that really reminds me of him."
Ollie's coffin featured Spider-Man and his funeral procession, in Maidstone, Kent, was led by someone in full costume.
"Spider-Man was his life. He loved it so much," said Uncle Jason, 37.
Marvel has not responded to requests for comment.
