A dad attacked two men after they got involved in an bust-up between him and his girlfriend.
Curtis Swales managed to avoid a jail sentence at Bolton Crown Court today (October 20).
And in an ‘act of mercy’, the sentencing judge told him his electronically-monitored curfew would also expire a few days before Christmas.
The two victims had been out drinking in Oldham with on the evening of December 15, 2018, before getting a taxi back to Oldham Road in Royton.

Prosecution barrister Adam White told Bolton Crown Court the men were then walking past a petrol station and saw a woman leaving the forecourt.
Swales, driving a car, pulled up next to her and shouted: "Get in the f***ing car."
He got out and started dragging her towards the vehicle, before the woman screamed to the men for help.
They walked towards the couple and one started taking photographs. Swales, of Maple Close, High Crompton, then ran at him.
The victim grabbed at Swales’ clothing. Swales punched him, with both men falling to the ground.
After getting up, Swales turned to the other man and said: "Do you f***ing want some as well?"
He then punched him.
Swales got back into his car and drove off.
Both men were taken to hospital to be assessed. The first man’s ankle was fractured and the second victim suffered a chipped tooth. The pair also had cuts and grazes.
Swales was tracked down after his car’s registration plate was seen on the petrol station’s CCTV.
He pleaded guilty to a section 20 assault; and a section 47 assault on the day of trial.
In a victim impact statement, the first victim said he still suffers with occasional pain in his left leg and that the incident has made him wary about ‘intervening in situations’.
Defending, Fiona McNeill referenced how long ago the incident was and said that Swales is now 'trying to be a role model to his young family'.
Judge Recorder Ciaran Rankin described the assaults as 'meaningless and thoughtless'.
He sentenced Swales to eight months, suspended for two years.
Recorder Rankin also ordered Swales to pay £500 to each of his victims and imposed a two month curfew, between 9pm and 6am.
He added: “As an act of mercy on your part, I impose a two month curfew as that will expire before Christmas and everyone knows how important it is that you’re free to deal with young children.”
