Dad attacked and left bleeding by 'monster' seagull that's terrorised street for weeks

A dad has been attacked by a monster seagull which left him with bleeding head wounds.

He was was left with three wounds to his scalp after the attack by the aggressive bird.

Natalie Stewart, 28, said her father was walking his new puppy in Widnes, Cheshire, when the aerial bombardment took place.

She told the Liverpool Echo : "He was walking along with our new puppy and it was on top of the lamp post as it always is, squawking really loudly and then it swooped.

"He ducked down to avoid it and just carried on walking and then the next thing he's just felt it smack the back of his head.

"Obviously it had gone up, turned back around and then hit him from behind.

"It's hit him three times. He said he bent down and put his arm up to defend himself and it flew back up on to the lamp post and started screeching again.

"He said it was hurting so he put his hand on his head and there was blood on his hand."

Natalie's dad sustained three wounds to his head inflicted by the seagull's beak.

She added: "He's fine but when he came home he was more in shock I think. He couldn't believe it."

The same seagull has been been terrorising neighbours for the past few weeks, swooping down at them aggressively.

She said: "My mum won't walk there any more as she's petrified of it. It swoops low and chases you so she won't go there anymore.

"We have spoken to one of the neighbours who also said it's come so low it's nearly got their puppy. She said she's rang the council and reported it.

"She won't walk there anymore as she's scared of it like my mum."

Natalie fears the seagull will attack a small child and posted a photo of her dad's injured head on Facebook, warning others in the area about the bird's aggressive behaviour.

Her post read: "Recently been walking our dog along Upton bridle path between Julian Jay and Rock Lane and every time getting attacked by a seagull. Today it has swooped and actually bitten my dad's head.

"I have spoken to a few other residents in area and they have said it is swooping at dogs as well as owners [and] attacking them".

She added: "It is big, like a really big seagull. And it swoops so low you've got to bend right down or it will take your head off.

"After it hit my dad I thought there's kids who play out in that area and they're always on bikes and things and I thought imagine if it did to young kid playing out, or a cat or a dog - it could really hurt them."
