DaBaby is facing a lawsuit following an alleged physical altercation at a rental property.

Homeowner Gary Pagar has claimed that the rapper “beat, punched, spat on, threatened, shoved and robbed” him after a disagreement over a rental agreement on a property that Pagar claims he rented to DaBaby at the cost of $43,706 (£31,325).

According to legal documents filed in Los Angeles, as per NME, Pagar alleges that the “Rockstar” musician violated the terms of the rental agreement by filming a music video at the house that featured approximately 40 people.

Pagar claims that when he confronted the group over the alleged violation, he was thrown to the ground by one of the rapper’s associates while DaBaby – real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk – sat in a nearby car.

Footage published on The Daily Mail depicts the incident, however Pagar claims that what is not shown in the clip is that the Grammy-nominated rapper apparently “sucker-punched” him and consequently knocked out his tooth.

As reported by NME, Pagar is seeking $117,910.48 (£84,508) in damages for the incident. He claims that the group defaced his property, broke a sculpture, and left rubbish around the house.

The Independent has contacted a representative of DaBaby for comment.

This is not the first time that the rapper has been involved in controversy. In January, the 29-year-old was arrested and charged on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, as well as carrying a loaded gun in a vehicle. He was later released from jail after posting bail.

Last year, a video of him hitting a female fan in the face in Tampa, Florida, surfaced. DaBaby issued an apology after he received backlash following the incident.
