Da’Shawn Hand downgraded to OUT for Eagles game

Detroit Lions defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand (elbow) has been downgraded to OUT for their Week 3 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After being declared Questionable on Friday’s injury report, Hand has been downgraded on the teams travel day — this also happened in Week 1 when the Lions traveled to Arizona.

Hand injured his elbow during training camp and has yet to see the field this year in the preseason or regular season. He has fluctuated from wearing an elbow brace and compression sleeve over the last two months but has been practicing in a limited fashion for some time.

Hand is making progress and has steadily shown improvement in practices — although he is obviously still not ready to go. It’s possible a return after the bye week is the target for now.

The rest of the Lions are relatively healthy with Taylor Decker (back) and Jarrad Davis (ankle) expected to return to game action this week.

The Eagles are not as healthy, declaring four players — including starting wide receiver DeSean Jackson — OUT  and another four players listed as doubtful or questionable for Sunday, including their other starting wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and tight end Dallas Goedert.
