D'Lo Brown recalls legendary wrestling matches and drinking session with Sheamus

Wrestling superstar D'Lo Brown has recalled his legendary drinking session with WWE star Sheamus while in Ireland during the 2000s.

Now an Impact Wrestling producer, he claims to have drank over 20 pints of Guinness with the Dubliner after working with him in a title match for Irish Whip Wrestling, before the Irishman hit the big time.

Brown famously wrestled Sheamus for the IWW championship just before the Cabra native joined WWE, where he has won four world titles during an illustrious career.

Speaking with Irish Mirror to promote Impact Wrestling's new TV deals in the UK & Ireland, Brown said: "I remember I wrestled Sheamus one time for the title in Irish Whip.

"We had a great time during the match, and then we went out to a pub together and I think we consumed about 22 pints of Guinness.

"I had some really good times in Ireland, I love being there because it's an amazing country with some amazing people.

"It pains me that I haven't been there in  such a long time but I can't wait to get back."

After working with his fellow Liverpool FC fan, Brown realised the potential that Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly, had and encouraged him to continue pushing.

"I told him he had the potential to be really special," Brown revealed. "I told him to keep at it and it wasn't more than a couple of years before he was on WWE TV killing it.

"You can't just see it completely and go 'he's going to be a star' but you can see that someone has the tools to be something special and I knew that he had those tools."

IMPACT Wrestling is available to view in the UK and Ireland from 2am Wednesdays on the IMPACT Plus app and airs at 9pm Wednesdays on Fight Network UK (Sky 192/Freesat 161) and repeated on Fight Network UK at 9pm on Sundays.
