D.K. Metcalf’s dad claims his son was squatting 100 pounds as a 5-year-old

Former Ole Miss wide receiver D.K. Metfcalf heads into the NFL combine as one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft. He was already regarded as the best receiver available, but it only took one workout photo to send the Metcalf hype into overdrive.

The dude is insanely jacked, and NFL fans could not stop freaking out about that.

That eye-opening workout photo aside, Metcalf’s father, Terrance, apparently had his son hitting the gym as a 5-year-old. In a video with Under Armour, Terrance reflected on his son’s strength, saying that his son was benching 50 pounds and squatting 100 pounds before his sixth birthday.

Terrance played in the NFL and pointed out that he wouldn’t let D.K. play football until his 12th birthday. According to Under Armour, Terrance eventually had D.K. lifting at a more age-appropriate weight, but still, that’s so much weight for a 5-year-old.

I’m not surprised he looks like this now.

The wide receiver workouts will take place on Saturday.
