If there is one positive thing that can be taken from the current pandemic that the nation is going through, it’s the fact that it’s brought us closer to those we really care about. In the case of Jacksonville Jaguars receiver D.J. Chark Jr, the nation’s current situation has allowed him to build a stronger bond with his girlfriend Chantelle Baker, who he became engaged with this weekend.
I don’t think Chark would disagree that he’s been a very fortunate player over the last two years. He had a breakout season last year, becoming the Jags’ first receiver to hit 1,000 yards since Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns did it in 2015. This came after a rough rookie campaign in which he was only able to accumulate 174 yards and battled a quadriceps injury.
Chark’s growth on the field last season also earned him a Pro Bowl nod, making him one-of-three Jaguars to attend the annual event with Calais Campbell and Josh Allen. Now, it appears Chark is striving towards growing off the field, too, and we’d like to congratulate him and Chantelle alongside Jags nation.
