Patrik Schick struck the Czech national team’s 1500th goal as Jaroslav Silhavy’s side warmed up for Scotland with a much-needed 3-1 win over Albania.
The Bayer Leverkusen star volleyed home Lukas Masopust’s cross after 18 minutes in Prague to set his side on the way to a first win in four ahead of the Hampden Euro 2020 opener in five days’ time.
The Czechs, reeling from Friday’s 4-0 trouncing by Italy, welcomed back Bristol City skipper Tomas Kalas at the heart of defence beside Ondrej Celustka who shook off a leg knock sustained against the Italians.
Now they look to be a full strength for the crucial Group D clash in Glasgow.
West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek was also back in from the start as Silhavy went with a strong looking starting XI.
Schick - his nation’s top scorer in the qualifiers - struck a sweet opener for the 1500th goal in Czechoslovak and Czech national team history before Sokol Sikalleshi netted a stunning equaliser from distance just before the break.
In a friendly played at a breathless pace, Slavia Prague midfielder Masopust made it 2-1 midway through the second half with a shot from just outside the box.
A raft of changes in the closing 20 minutes slowed the tempo.
But the Czechs put the gloss on victory in the final minute when Sparta Prague defender Celustka headed home substitute Jakub Pesek’s free kick.
Silhavy’s side will now continue their preparations for Monday’s Hampden showdown back in Prague before flying to the UK at the weekend.
