The Czech Republic and Denmark face-off in the Baku National Stadium on Saturday night for the right to play either England or Ukraine in a Euro 2020 semi-final at Wembley next week.
Denmark are 11/10 favourites to progress, while the Czech Republic are 14/5. It is 9/4 that extra time is required to split them.
Denmark reached the quarter-final stage by dismantling Wales in Amsterdam where Kasper Hjulman’s side scored four goals for the second match running.
Denmark’s creative spark has come from an unlikely source given Mikkel Damsgaard came into the tournament as an understudy to Christian Eriksen.
However, inspired by teammate Eriksen, the Sampdoria star was a real eye-catcher in the 4-1 demolition of Russia, in which he scored a brilliant opening goal.
The 20-year-old ensured that he was guaranteed a starting place in the quarter-final with an assist against Wales and Damsgaard is 3/1 in the any time scorer market on Saturday night.
The Czech’s main goal threat comes from Patrik Schick, who is just one goal behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot award.
Schick has already bagged four goals in the tournament and the Bayer Leverkusen striker is 11/4 to make that five in Baku, which makes some appeal.
However, although Czech Republic were well worth their 2-0 win over the Netherlands, they won’t find this miserly Denmark rear-guard as accommodating and the 11/10 about Denmark, inspired by Mikkel Damsgaard, looks the best bet.
