Cyprus and Lithuania added to UK's coronavirus quarantine list

Cyprus and Lithuania are the two latest countries to be added to the UK's quarantine list.

Travellers arriving in the UK from those countries after 4am on Sunday must self-isolate for 14 days due to a rise in coronavirus cases.

Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps confirmed the news on Twitter.

From 4am Sunday 1st November, if you arrive into the UK from these destinations you will need to self-isolate.

Earlier today, it was thought Germany would join the two countries due to the rise in coronavirus cases.

However, Germany maintains its quarantine exemption despite recording 107 cases per 100,000 people in the past week.

Cyprus currently has a rate of 112 cases per 100,000 people.

Last week, it was announced people returning from The Maldives, Canary Islands, Denmark and Mykonos would not have to self-isolate on return.

No travel corridors have been added this week.
